Richard Wagner’s influence on music history was, and still is enourmess. His masterpieces are highly personal as well as universial. Wagner has a special place in Camiel Boomsma’s repertoire. During the 19th century numerous transcriptions of Wagner’s work were written. Franz Liszt is the pioneer among these romantic transcribers, but many others also interpreted Wagner’s work in their own personal way. This musical treasure of transcriptions gives me the oppertunity to take on this overwhelming music themselves.
