This month ”Porazzi” will go online on voordekunst.nl! I derived the title ”Porazzi” from Wagner’s mysterious ”Porazzi” theme which he composed in Palermo at the ”Piazza dei Porazzi” in 1882, one year before his death. The first 8 bars however, were composed in 1858-59, the period during which he started composing the second act of Tristan und Isolde. He finished the theme in 1882. It is most probable that Wagner played his Porazzi theme at the piano the night before his death in Venice. The CD will be recorded in december.
